About php|tek

php|tek is a PHP conference like no other; it brings together great technology content and great people, and mixes them up in a wonderful cocktail of PHP fun.

We like to think of php|tek as a professional conference with a community flair. You will find a combination of high-quality presentations by some of the brightest experts in the PHP world, coupled with a welcoming and friendly community of attendees and speakers, and plenty of great opportunities for networking and talking shop with your fellow attendees.

At php|tek, you will find a familiar atmosphere that revolves around people, and not around business interests. Speakers (and organizers) and attendees mingle and learn from each other in the “hallway track”; there are no exclusive parties or secret by-invitation-only rooms. We’re all in it together to learn, communicate and grow.

Unconference

The unconference is back! After a one-year hiatus, our very own Keith Casey will once again be on tap to organize a meeting of the mind after official conference hours are over.

Like its name implies, the unconference is an informal after-hours event during which everyone is invited to make a short presentation on a topic of their choice. It’s a great way to tell the other attendees about your project, solicit their help or feedback, or gauge interest in a subject that you want to propose as a fully-fledged talk at next year’s conference.

Parties

Did we say party? Sure we did—how else do you get to meet and chat with fellow attendees?

Tek features two evening parties open to all attendees and speakers, with light refreshments, games, entertainment and a competition or two. Regardless of whether you want to unwind after a hard day of learning or join in for some fun, our after-hours are a great add-on to the daytime activities.
